The Hunger Games

This book is about a girl named Katniss. Katniss lives in a future where the people in the Capitol are the only ones who are well fed. there are 12 districts each of them creating a different thing for the capitol. Katniss lives in district 12, where they have coal mines.

Percy Jackson

Percy Jackson and the Olympians is a book series about a 12-15 year old called Percy Jackson who is the son of Poseidon. His two best friends are Annabeth Chase, and Grover Underwood. Grover is a saytr, and Annabeth is the daughter of Athena. They are making a movie out of the first book in the series, " The Lightning Thief" and the trailer for it is shown below.

Maximum Ride

This book series is about 6 kids and their dog. Sounds pretty normal, doesn't it? The twist: The 6 kids have wings, the dog can talk, and the dog has wings. The kids names are, Maximum Ride, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gazzy, and Angel. The dogs name is Total. They are being pursued by a genetic mix of wolf genes, and human genes. They themselves are a mix of bird genes and human genes. Max, Fang, and Iggy are 14. Nudge is 11. Gazzy is 8, and Angel is 6 in books 1,2,3,and 4, and is 7 in book 5. Book 6 is coming out on March 15, 2010. In these books, there is a mix of adventure, danger, cliffhangers, mysteries, and believe it or not, romance. This book is perfect for kids around the ages of 9, 10,11,12,13,14,15,16, and 17.

Redwall

Redwall is a book series about an abbey called Redwall, a mountain called Salamandistron, and many other exotic places. The characters in it are mainly rodents, badgers, wolverines, amphibians such as toads, frogs, and eels, and reptiles such as snakes and lizards. The mice, moles, voles, squirrels, hares, otters, and badgers in this story are the good guys. The rats, stoats, foxes, wolverines, ermine, wildcats, toads, snakes, and lizards in this story are the bad guys. The mice,moles, voles, squirrels,otters, and badgers are the residents of Redwall Abbey. The hares and badgers in this story live in Salamandistron. This series is packed full of adventure and friendship. There are also picture books that go along with the stories for smaller children.

The chronicles of Vladmir Tod

The Chronicles of Vladmir Tod is about a young vampire who is supposedly a mythical vampire from a prophecy, who is called " The pravus". He is an outlaw to the Elyisian (Vampiric) Council. In this book series, the Elisian council sends several assassins, vampire slayers, and vampires in an attempt to kill him. This is a cool book, that is ever so slightly kleshe.
